After the first comeback to Partizan Belgrade for the 2011/2012 season in loan from Maccabi Tel Aviv, it came the time to negotiate with the Israeli club, because there were a lot of top clubs that wanted to sign Milan Mačvan but they didn't want to reinforce a direct opponent... Finally, on July 30th, 2012, he signed a two-year contract with Galatasaray Istanbul, Turkey, that payed a buyout of € 250.000 to Maccabi for him with the declared purpose of winning the Turkish National Championship and qualifying for the Euroleague of the following season.

He was immediately called to be a leader inside Galatasaray Istanbul, coached by Ergin Ataman. On October 29th, 2012, Macvan (class 1989) led the team to win the first derby of the TBL season over Anadolu Efes on the road for 73-83, performing 19 points and 3 rebounds, together with David Hawkins (17) and Jamont Gordon (13), but more than highlights performances, he gave his character to the team, that ran a sensational season writing a record of 36 wins to 4 losses! As 1st ranked in the Regular Season (27-3), they defeated Tofas Bursa (2-0) in the Quarterfinals, Pinar Karsiyaka (3-0) in the Semifinals and Banvit (4-1) in the Finals, getting back the National title to the club after 23 years, on June 15th, 2013.

And what about Milan Macvan? He played a very consistant role, taking responsabilities on his shoulders when the game was more complicated or focusing on defense, producing 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 12.3 of evaluation per game. The same happened in the EuroCup, where Galatasaray Istanbul finished 2nd in Regular season (4-2) qualifying to the Last 16, then it tied the 2nd place (3-3) but losing at "tiebreak" on points difference; Milan averaged 7.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 7.9 of evaluation in 22' per game.

In the 2013/2014 season, the main objective was obviously the Euroleague. And the team, after being 2nd in its group in Regular Season (6-4), wrote the club history, achieving the qualification to the Euroleague Playoffs for the first time ever! It happened by defeating Partizan Belgrade for 64-55, surrounded by 11.400 fans at the Abdi Ipekci, to claim the 4th spot... Markoishvili scored 16 points, Erceg and Aldemir 13 each... Milan Macvan? He produced 5 points, 5 more, 2 assists, 1 block for a double-figures evaluation of  11.

Written the club history, Galatasaray couldn't stop FC Barcelona in the Playoffs, being dominated in the first two games but then losing Game 3 at home for 75-78, despite the moving performances by Carlos Arroyo (21 points with 4/7 from 3pt, 4 assists), Zoran Erceg (19 with 10/10 from the line) and Milan Macvan, who performed 11 points (2/3 from the arc, 5/6 from the line) adding 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 18 of evaluation in only 17', after producing 6.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 9.3 of evaluation in only 19' per game along the Euroleague season...

Unfortunately, the team didn't respond so well in the TBL, showing a wrong chemistry and too much confusion in coach Ataman's decisions. 4th placed in the Regular Season (20-10), then advanced through the Playoffs (2-1 over Besiktas, 1-3 over Banvit) to the Finals, lost to Fenerbahce Ulker for 4-3. But Milan Macvan couldn't play the ultimate part of the season, because the club exceeded the number of foreigner players registered... He played only 26 games, with 6.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists.
