MILAN MAČVAN'S CAREER

COUNTRY BY COUNTRY, SEASON BY SEASON

Milan Mačvan just turned 28 on November 16th, 2017, but his career as professional basketball player has already seen very important and meaningful chapters, steps and achievements.

He has become a professional player even before starting to play in a senior team, thanks to the fundamental experiences made with the Youth National Team of Serbia, where he won 3 Gold Medals in a row (Under 18 European Championship 2007, Under 19 World Championship 2007 as MVP, Under 20 European Championship 2008)... The summer later, he won 2 more Gold Medals, at the World University Games 2009 and, with the Senior National Team, the Silver Medal at European Championship 2009. He was also the MVP of Nike Hoop Summit 2009.

Then, it was time to start winning with Clubs, and his winning streak continued, increasing the frequency even more. After being voted as the EuroCup Rising Star 2009 playing with Hemofarm Vrsac, in December 2010 he moved from Serbia to Israel signing for Maccabi Tel Aviv, winning the Israeli National Cup and the Israeli National Championship 2011, also arriving as Finalist at the Euroleague Final Four. And at the NBA Draft 2011 he was selected by the Cleveland Cavs (#54, 2nd round overall), where he would have gone to workout few years later.

Back to Serbia, he won the Serbian National Cup and the Serbian National Championship in 2012 with Partizan Belgrade, then he moved again to Turkey, winning once again the Turkish National Championship in 2013 with Galatasaray Istanbul. After a new comeback to Serbia and Partizan Belgrade - it was his own victory, he wanted to help the club and lead young players... -  earning the award of MVP of the Serbian Playoffs, he moved to Italy, where he played two seasons with EA7 Olimpia Milan, winning again the Italian National Cup (twice, in 2016 and 2017), the Italian National Championship in 2016 and the Italian National SuperCup in 2016.

Meanwhile, he restarted winning with the Senior National Team of Serbia, the Silver Medal at the Olympic Games European Championship 2016, and the Silver Medal at the European Championship 2017, just before starting the new adventure with FC Bayern Munich in Germany. A new Country, the same ambition, desire and absolute determination to win again. He has already won the National Championship in each Country where he played...

What's behind all of this? A true competitor with a fighting spirit and a lot of charisma, Milan Mačvan is considered a very modern "big man", fulfilling both the power-forward and center positions at best, thanks to his unique intelligence, combined with attitude, spirit of sacrifice and winning mentality. And he has just turned 28.
